The project is funded by The National Foundation for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development of the Republic of Croatia and by the project partner Končar - Electrical Engineering Institute through the progremme "Partnership in Basic Research".
The research and development of methodology for advanced control of the next generation and greater power (5-10MW) wind turbines.
General and long-lasting goal of the proposed project is to raise scientific and technical competency and readiness to accept new knowledge in control of complex systems such as wind turbines/farms. Systems like these are characterized by nonlinearity, coupling of dynamical values and stochastic disturbances. The main result of this project is to develop single methodological approach to modeling and control of complex systems that convert wind energy into electrical energy.
The emphasized goals of the proposed research are:
- Raising the quality of research for graduate and postgraduate studies – with beneficial effects on the long-term strategic development of Croatia through the increased quality of scientific and technical activities in future national and international projects/cooperation.
- Establishing healthy partnership with industry, mainly national.
- Creation of a scientifically based organizational structure that will enable easier and more efficient participation in international projects, especially European Union projects.
