The aim of this work is designing feed forward filter in the wind turbine control system thereby compensating the impact of wind gust on wind turbine rotor speed. Feed forward control is active only during strong winds i.e. when wind speed is higher than the nominal speed. The operation of feed forward filter is based on wind speed estimator. Estimation is done through calculating aerodynamic moment which is defined by nonlinear mathematical model of wind turbine. In the final part of work there is analysis of estimator robustness to the measurement noise and to the uncertainty of model.
