In this work we observe advanced control algorithms for wind turbine maximum power point tracking (MPPT). First, we describe the nonlinear mathematical model and define the control algotihm which ensures optimal energy conversion. Such control algorithm is optimal only when the exact model is known. Therefore two methods of obtaining optimal energy conversion without knowing wind turbine model are analysed. The first method is based on the power coefficient change, and the second method uses the phase difference between power coefficient and tip speed ratio. It is shown that both methods ensure optimal energy conversion.
